American Patriots are once again resisting an oppressive government.
Join the Resistance! Resist like it's 1776!

No American president since Ronald Reagan has understood and espoused the founding fathers' principles of limited government and even he GREW the government. With the bailouts and stimulus packages of Bush, Obama and Congress the camel's back has been broken. The American people have had enough! Tea party protesters are fighting back against 100 years of degradation of America's limited government foundation as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

IRS / TAXES

Who doesn't love to hate the IRS? But there are very serious issues at stake...

There is so much information available on the internet that I'll only try to summarize my key issues here.

The Junk: Despite what you may read elsewhere on the internet, you have to pay your taxes. The arguments are varied, but the most common is 'the 16th Amendment was never ratified' (see The Law That Never Was). Research into anti-tax theories is interesting because you will learn about tax issues that American's are woefully ignorant about: direct vs. indirect taxes, how and when tax compliance changed from voluntary to withholding, the history of the U.S. before the 16th Amendment, and the government propaganda campaign which successfully changed American's attitudes from necessity, to patriotism, and then to the rampant ignorance and fatalism of today. For example, watch these Donald Duck WWII propaganda videos: Spirit of '43 and Taxes to beat the Axis.

The Facts: Well over 50% of your tax dollars are spent on welfare and entitlements programs. At least 8% of your tax dollars service the national debt. See Where Do Our Tax Dollars Go? And the national debt is largely caused by the Federal Reserve Bank providing a service (creating money) that the U.S. Government is authorized by the Constitution to do for itself. See End the Fed. Most Americans' income taxes are withheld from their paychecks, further separating them from the reality of their taxes and their government. Who doesn't automatically estimate their take-home pay when looking at job salaries - and then never give it another thought? And many taxes Americans pay aren't taken out of their paycheck - they are hidden, embedded taxes.

The Reality: The government has grown by astronomical proportions since the 16th Amendment became law in 1913. The bloated size of the government and the sheer number of agencies, departments and bureaucracies virtually guarantees that your tax money is spent inefficiently. Then factor in the waste, fraud, abuse, perks, inflated bureaucrat salaries (congresspeople can and do vote for their own raises) and you should start to become a little bothered. Next understand how the recent bailouts and stimulus packages are a slap in the face to the limited government created by the founding fathers and are the summation of nearly 100 years of a growing federal government trying to manage every aspect of it's citizens lives. Stand up and object the next time someone claims that objecting to taxes is the same as objecting to paying for necessary government services! See Federal Budget Pie Chart

The Answer: Get educated on tax issues. There are thousands of internet sites covering every aspect of taxation from the "junk" mentioned above, to the history of the 16th Amendment and court cases surrounding it, to the links between the Federal Reserve and the income tax - they were both signed into law in 1913! Look at the most recent political races, and indeed any races of the last 50 or more years, and see how tax issues are used for nothing more than to manipulate the voters while keeping them ignorant of real issues.

Most importantly, get informed on tax reform solutions and why they are absolutely necessary right now! My favorite is a measure that is currently in Congress: the Fairtax. Read The Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz and learn why the current system is unfair, unecessary, and robbing you blind with embedded taxes.

10 reasons to support the FairTax:

  1. No withholding, keep your entire paycheck
  2. No taxes on basic living expenses
  3. Criminals can't avoid taxes
  4. No embedded taxes=reduced cost of goods
  5. Politicians can no longer manipulate the people with tax issues
  6. Bring overseas jobs back to America
  7. Business decisions are not based on tax avoidance but on good business practices
  8. Supercharge the economy
  9. Real solutions to real problems by real folks
