American Patriots are once again resisting an oppressive government.
Join the Resistance! Resist like it's 1776!
No American president since Ronald Reagan has understood and espoused the founding fathers' principles of limited government and even he GREW the government. With the bailouts and stimulus packages of Bush, Obama and Congress the camel's back has been broken. The American people have had enough! Tea party protesters are fighting back against 100 years of degradation of America's limited government foundation as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

INDIVIDUALISM
What has happened to the American Rugged Individualist?
The concept of individualism from an economic point of view is directly linked to Capitalism and opposed to democratic (majority rule) forms of government (the U.S. is NOT a democracy). From a social perspective the individualist is self-reliant and pro-active about his/her life. This does not mean, as some detractors suggest, that they are insensitive to the plights of others or general social inequities. It does mean that they are anti-collectivist, and know that the only solution to those inequities lies with the individual. The government cannot grant success, prosperity or happiness with government programs. One hard truth of all social/intrapersonal relationships is that a person cannot be helped until that person is ready to help themselves.
The smallest minority is the individual. And the U.S. Constitution was designed to protect the minority through rights protected by the rule of law. The individualist puruses their goals with the certain knowledge that doing so does not infringe on any other individual's rights. In fact, it is this concept of each individual person acting as a unique political entity, not as a servant but as master of government, that informed the founding fathers' new concept of government.
One of America's staunchest defenders of the individual, philosopher/author Ayn Rand, explains individualism here. Other great discussions of individualism can be found here: Freedom Keys What is Individualism
Herbert Hoover referred to the “initiative” and “enterprise” that made this country great. And the “rugged individualist” invented is the U.S.A. is the stuff of legend. Celebrate America and the individual!
