No American president since Ronald Reagan has understood and espoused the founding fathers' principles of limited government and even he GREW the government. With the bailouts and stimulus packages of Bush, Obama and Congress the camel's back has been broken. The American people have had enough! Tea party protesters are fighting back against 100 years of degradation of America's limited government foundation as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

THE FREE MARKET
How is the free market being threatened today?
If you asked 100 economists to describe the free market system you just might get 100 different answers. A general definition, however, is that a free market is one where prices and supply are set by producers and consumers, and the governments role is limited to protection against fraud, force and monopoly.
With the recent bank bailouts, stimulus packages and outright takeover of private businesses by the government, Tea Party goers and other Americans have become shocked and outraged over the governments blatant disregard for the free market system. We see not only a sympathetic ear for socialistic policies but a head-long march toward achieving them. Surely, the founding fathers of the United States of America are spinning in their graves.
The size of the federal government is completely out of control. Since when do Americans look to the government to solve every single problem? WE DON'T! As Ronald Reagan once said, the government cannot fix your problems, the government IS the problem. Has there ever been a government program that wasn't inefficient, wasteful and generally a big screwup? Compounding the issue is that every government employee is a person that is not producing anything for the economy, and who's salary and benefits are paid by taxing people who do! Government control can only lead to stagnation and suffering. Only the free market can continue to lead the human race along the path of progression and freedom.
Indeed there is significant evidence that government's imposition on free market lending practices caused the economic meltdown of 2008/2009. Also here. The Free Market Cure is just one discussion of how private industry can do better if only we could restrict the government to it's constitutionally mandated "limited" role.
