No American president since Ronald Reagan has understood and espoused the founding fathers' principles of limited government and even he GREW the government. With the bailouts and stimulus packages of Bush, Obama and Congress the camel's back has been broken. The American people have had enough! Tea party protesters are fighting back against 100 years of degradation of America's limited government foundation as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

For decades the winning choice in American presidential elections has been - DON'T VOTE!
And who can blame them? The experts don't agree on the reason for low voter turnout. But I imagine it's a combination of apathy and contentment, and an unwillingness to vote for the "lesser of two evils". How much has the result of any presidential election really effected your day-to-day life? (Veterans and their relatives may have the strongest feelings about this.) But most people are fairly content, they live in the best country in the world after all!

Think about the promises and pie-in-the-sky ideals promised by candidates - how much of it is ever realized, much less makes any difference? Think about tax cuts and new taxes for great programs. Isn't it all just about keeping one policial party in power and growing the size of the government? Why do voters of today place so much faith in the ideology of one party and in their candidates? A government "of the people" does not work when half of the people don't care and the other half don't pay attention.
If only half of non-voters begin to vote for their independent candidate, and half of current voters do the same - the tide change in American politics would be so dramatic it would be the story of the century. The Constitution no longer matters to entrenched career politicians and lobbyists (click on 'Term Limits'). Look into the Libertarian party, the Constitution party, and other independent candidates. Help us stop the slide toward Socialism and big government.
